The APP Sessions
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) program returns to the AVF Annual Meeting with a full weekend of hands-on, case-driven education designed specifically for APPs, and built in close collaboration with our Physician-in-Training (PIT) colleagues. This year’s program pairs hands-on skill-building with the clinical topics relevant to daily practice — from DVT management to lymphedema care to the business side of running a venous practice. Plus, attendees can earn valuable CME credits.

SATURDAY HIGHLIGHTS
- APP & PIT Joint Ultrasound Session – Collaborative, hands-on scanning practice bridging APP and trainee education.
- VTE: Innovative and Modern Management – Practical approaches to DVT triage, anticoagulation, and procedural intervention in chronic venous leg ulcers.
- Wound Management, Sclerotherapy, and Management of the Superficial System – Real-world case examples covering labial varicosities, ultrasound-guided sclerotherapy, and APP-led clinic workflows.
- Day of Service – Our annual community outreach event, connecting attendees directly with patients in need.
SUNDAY HIGHLIGHTS
- Lymphedema/Lipedema – Updated guidelines, compression strategies, impact of lymphedema on the integumentary system, and international perspectives on lymph node transfer.
- APP & PIT Joint Hands-On Session – A second round of collaborative procedural training and hands-on sessions with compression and wound management strategies.
- Metabolic and Venous Intersections – A deep dive into GLP-1 therapies, hormone-driven venous disease, and the link between adiposity and wound healing.
- Scientific Abstracts Session – Research presentations from your colleagues with dedicated time for discussions.
- Leadership, Business, and Research – Practical talks on simulation-based education, research mentorship, and building a career in venous practice.
